I picked this week because it's the last week before the school holidays start in France and Switzerland, and I picked Grand Massif, because it usually has plenty of snow in January, is a vast ski area, and only a little bit over one hour from Geneva Airport.

My wife Wendy will come on this trip, as this is a perfect village for anybody who is also interested in spas, shopping, dog sledding, hiking, and so much more!!!! And the mountain top restaurants are accessible for non-skiers as well!

ALYESKA, Alaska (on IKON pass)

I am still waiting for a quote for the roundtrip transfers, but it will be less than $100 per person.
It's unique experience, as you will be able to ski at a very low altitude of 250 to 3939 feet, and the lifts open late in the morning, but won't close until 6 or 7pm.
Here is a video I took when we enjoyed Alyeska in 2021.... Alyeska 2021 with SkiAholics

Alyeska is not a huge resort, but gets over 600 inches of snow every year (that's over 50 feet!), and also offers 1 day helicopter and snowcat skiing.
Here is a video I took when I went heliskiing for a day in 2021: Heli skiing in Alyeska, AK, March 2021 w SkiAholics
Alyeska is only 45 minutes from Anchorage, so there is the option to take a large variety of different tours and do some sightseeing, for anybody who doesn't want to ski every day.
We went on a snowmobile tour in 2021: Snowmobile Tour to Spencer Glacier in Alaska March 2021
And here is a list to the many different options: THE BEST 20 Tours & Excursions in Anchorage, Alaska (April 2026)
And here is a link to the trail map: Mountain Report Winter - Alyeska Resort
We won't be able to book the flights for another month or so. IF interested, please send me an email, and I will keep you posted.
I am also considering a getaway in February, but I am still collecting quotes from Telluride, Whitefish, Powder Mountain, Mt. Baker and Sun Valley, but haven't found anything yet, I am completely happy with.
I might just decide to offer something on short notice .....based on snow conditions, etc.
All trips are available on a first come, first serve basis!
FYI, this email goes out to past SkiAholics and friends (to give you all first dips), and will go out to the entire mailing list on 4/26.
